Welkait Sugar Mill Of Ethiopia
Welkait sugar mill of Ethiopia is the largest overseas EPC project contracted to Chinese company of its kind, with contract amount of 0.65 billion US dollar majorly financed by Export-Import Bank of China. Located in the Welkait district of northern Ethiopia,the sugar mill has the capacity of processing 24000 tons of sugarcane per day, along with a 1550t/D sugar refining line, a 4*30 MW bagasse combined power plant and affiliated facilities for agricultural irrigation. The completion of the project has improved local economic and agricultural sustainability,expanded local job market, and provided a solution to the country’s shortage in edible sugar.
